Essential Duties
- Operate high speed filling and packaging machines
- Operate other equipment, as needed
- Follow instructions/information on Job Tickets to perform duties
- Maintain accurate inventory of components
- Ability to move 55-gallon drum or 5-gallon pails, manually or with use of proper equipment
- Responsible for checking quality and conformity of production throughout run.
- Setup, change over, and clean up filling and packaging machines daily
- Maintain mobile equipment certification and properly use equipment
- Follow all safety, work, and good manufacturing practices, procedures, and rules
- Follow all quality, housekeeping and inventory requirements
- Responsible for workspace and safe operation of any assigned equipment, materials, items, and tools
- Ability to make mechanical adjustments to machines using basic hand tools
- Maintain recordkeeping requirements in written form and with use of computer
- Professionally represent the company
- Possess ability to be trained and to train others when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education- Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years prior machine operator experience that included making mechanical adjustments, using basic hand tools, and working with automatic and manual equipment
Other Competencies
- Possess basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot machines and perform minor repairs when needed
- Able to make basic math computations to perform role (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, read ruler, read measures, calculate measurements)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Possess good interpersonal communication skills
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Able to work in a repetitive, fast paced environment
- Able to sit or stand at machine for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be dependable, have good attendance and be punctual
- Represent self professionally
- Able to work overtime when job requires.
Work Environment
- Must be able to stand for a long period of time.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Responsible for workplace and any assigned equipment or materials.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, production environment.
- Able to work for long periods of time in an environment with exposure to heat, cold, or controlled chemicals.
