Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Willis-Knighton Health System.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care.

Required Credentials: Traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN).

Special Requests: Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff. Up to 7 days of RTO allowed; must extend 1 week for every full week requested off. May only request 1 weekend of RTO per 13-week contract.

Unit Details: Patient population includes Med Surg, Ortho, Neuro, and Telemetry. Common cases/procedures include ORIF, total joints (hips, knees, shoulders), spinal/neck surgeries including laminectomies, fusion, and discectomy, hemodialysis, and chest pain rule out. Works with non-titrating cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation (will confirm Tele tech findings), drains, wound vacs, traches (charge or RT will manage), central lines, catheters, HD catheters, and peritoneal dialysis (dialysis RN will manage). Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis. Charge nurse may or may not have a patient assignment; 2 CNAs per shift; phlebotomy draws peripheral blood only; IV/VAT team is dayshift only; RT is available 24/7; hospitalist is on call 24/7; wound care is available; centralized telemetry with tele tech.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week; this schedule is mandatory. No call. Will work 2 of 3 holidays.

Floating Requirements: Will float to like units; travelers will float first.

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
