Job Details:
As a key member of a lean transactions team, you will support high-volume deal activity across the company's growing North American portfolio. Initial responsibilities will be heavily focused on title and survey work, with increasing transactional responsibility as you grow into the role.
Responsibilities include:
Title review, title curative, and drafting title opinions for land and lease acquisitions
Survey review and coordination with landmen, title companies, and outside counsel
Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, easements, rights of way, and surface use agreements
Supporting due diligence on acquisitions and sale-leaseback transactions
Coordinating with internal acquisitions and investment teams on deal execution
Managing multiple transactions simultaneously across various stages of the deal lifecycle
Ideal Background
1 to 4 years of real estate transactions experience, with a preference for candidates from O&G-focused law firms or in-house energy legal teams
JD and Admission to TX bar
Hands-on experience with title review, title curative, and survey analysis
Familiarity with Texas real property law; experience in other energy markets a plus
Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Houston-based (or seeking to relocate to Houston) and committed to the market long-term
