Commercial Lines Account Manager

Commercial Lines Account Manager Benefits & Compensation

Commercial Lines Account Manager Requirements & Qualifications


  • 3+ years of Commercial Lines experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License required
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment


Commercial Lines Account Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Service and manage an assigned book of commercial accounts, addressing all policy, coverage, and risk management needs
  • Drive retention and organic growth by rounding accounts, upgrading coverage, and maintaining agency standards
  • Manage complete renewal processes: marketing, quoting, carrier negotiation, and strategy implementation
  • Accurately process endorsements, policy changes, certificates, audits, and service requests
  • Place and bind coverage with carriers according to agency and underwriting guidelines
  • Collaborate with producers on new business submissions, marketing, proposals, and coverage analysis
  • Review policies for accuracy and communicate changes and updates to clients post-billing
  • Document account activity, monitor accounts at risk, and proactively address retention
  • Stay compliant with insurance regulations and internal protocols
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, sharing progress on pipelines, renewals, and carrier relationships
