Position Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to business leaders and employees, providing guidance and support across all areas of human resources. This role has a strong focus on compensation, benefits administration, and total rewards strategy while also supporting employee relations, performance management, talent development, compliance, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with exceptional interpersonal skills and has experience designing, administering, and communicating competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract, retain, and engage employees.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Partner with leadership to develop and maintain competitive compensation programs aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct market pricing, salary benchmarking, and compensation analyses to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Support annual compensation planning processes, including merit increases, promotions, bonus programs, and salary adjustments.
  • Analyze compensation data and trends and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain job descriptions and support job evaluation and classification processes.
  • Ensure compensation practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

Benefits Administration

  • Manage day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, employee communications, and educational sessions.
  • Partner with benefits brokers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to ensure effective program management.
  • Analyze benefits utilization, costs, and employee feedback to recommend program improvements.
  • Assist with benefits compliance, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and other applicable regulations.

HR Business Partnership

  • Partner with managers to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Coach leaders on employee engagement, talent management, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Support investigations and resolution of employee concerns and workplace issues.
  • Assist in implementing HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning and recruitment efforts.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports related to compensation, benefits, turnover, and workforce trends.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Participate in audits and compliance reviews as needed.
  • Support special projects and HR initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 5-8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant experience in compensation and benefits administration.
  • Experience serving as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist supporting managers and employees.
  • Experience with salary benchmarking, compensation analysis, and benefits program administration required.
  • Manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or related industry experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of compensation structures, market pricing, and total rewards programs.
  • Working knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Certifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) is a plus.
