- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assists in regulatory surveys and legal investigations, including patient complaint surveys and compliance with CMS reporting requirements.
- Manages the internal event report system, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes and timely reporting of adverse events.
- Reviews reported events for data completeness and accuracy, initiating follow-up with appropriate Directors and Managers within three days.
- Identifies, investigates, and reports on Sentinel Events/Never Events, facilitating Root Cause Analyses. Participates in the facility process for Disclosure of Unanticipated Outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in either written form or electronic/magnetic recording [Required]
- Speaking skills: Talking to others to effectively convey information [Required]
- Social perceptiveness: Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react the way they do [Required]
- Reading comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents [Required]
- Critical thinking: Using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches [Required]
- Active Listening: Listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate [Required]
- Writing: Communicating effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience [Required]
Education:
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
- 2+ years experience in health care risk management which includes claims management/litigation prevention [Preferred]
- 3+ years clinical experience in healthcare related field [Required]
- Experience in process improvement/patient safety [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) [Preferred]
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) [Preferred]
Pay Range:
$50,211.20 - $93,392.00Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
