American Traveler seeks an Outpatient Speech-Language Pathologist with a Master's degree and Oklahoma SLP licensure to provide diagnostic and treatment services for communication disorders in a hospital-based physical therapy clinic. Details
Outpatient hospital-based physical therapy clinic setting Days shift, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week 13-week assignment length Evaluates and treats speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders following physician referral Determines need for individual or group therapy for each client May consider candidates with acute care experience Requirements
Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology required License required if applicable - must be licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire Minimum of one year of experience required Outpatient hospital-based experience required Strong knowledge of normal speech, language, and hearing development Ability to perform diagnostic testing and develop treatment plans for communication disorders Strong interpersonal and patience skills required when working with clients experiencing high frustration levels Additional Information
Responsibilities include performing evaluations of speech, hearing, and swallowing difficulties and developing preliminary diagnoses and treatment plans Documents client progress throughout treatment Assists students in clinical rotations with meeting their objectives Works under general supervision Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position Returning employees/travelers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks and must have a 6-month separation before applying for another contract Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and will not allow push starts Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to allow for compliance clearance
