Full job description
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Completes medically prescribed Occupational Therapy assessment, plans and implements treatment program, and reasseses patient status as indicated to restore function and/ or maximize ability following disease or disability. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is a not qualifying factor to obtain the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. BS or MS in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
2. Valid and current New York State Occupational Therapy license and registration with the National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy.
3. AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to the date of renewal.
4. Complete accurate and legible documentation as per established guidelines.
5. Ablity to qualitatively evaluate and treat all age groups and diagnostic categories in both an inpatient, outpatient, Skilled Nursing Facility, and Sub-Acute Rehab settings.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caretakers regarding anticipated Occupational Therapy treatment plan, level of expected patient participation, and expected outcome.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with the public and the Medical/CVPH staff as a member of the Rehabilitation team.
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
