Full job description

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for RB Media House North America (RBMH). This position is responsible for performing key accounting functions, including account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, payroll, daily cash management, and financial reporting.  The role will support the integrity of the general ledger and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance and financial accuracy.


CASH MANAGEMENT

Maintain and distribute the daily cash position report to key stakeholders

Review and clear items flagged in the Wells Fargo fraud filter to ensure uninterrupted payment processing

Monitor weekly liquidity needs and request funding from Parent Company when necessary

Post and record all incoming and outgoing wires and ACH transactions on a weekly basis

Reconcile cash activity to the general ledger and bank statements as part of month-end

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE AND REVENUE RECOGNITION

Prepare and send invoices related to sponsorship and content licensing agreements

Maintain the Accounts Receivable ledger and work with RBMH team to resolve outstanding balances and past due accounts

Schedule monthly meeting with RBMH Controlling and Sales team to review monthly sales

Post monthly reclass entries to properly recognize earned revenue in accordance with contractual terms and GAAP

Maintain and update the unearned revenue log to ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition

Ensure compliance with internal revenue recognition policies and accounting standards (ASC 606) if applicable

Assist with customer related questions from Athlete Performance team timely

PAYROLL

Reconcile biweekly payroll to ensure accuracy of GL against bank debit

Post biweekly payroll timely prior to bank rec deadline

Coordinate with HR or payroll related to 401k debits or variance to the bank

Support month-end close by ensuring payroll entries are accurately reflected in the general ledger

MONTH END CLOSE PROCESS 

Reconcile all RB Media House bank accounts as part of monthly close process

Post required accruals and reclass journal entries in coordination with RBMH Finance controlling team

Prepare and reconcile balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness of financials

Confirm the validity of newly acquired fixed assets and create entries in the fixed asset system as needed

Run monthly depreciation and maintain fixed asset roll forward reports for Accounting and Tax team

Prepare the content distribution revenue report and post the Intercompany invoice from Red Bull GmbH

Prepare and submit the cost-plus calculation for review in accordance with intercompany agreements

Post RBMH cost plus invoice timely and accurately

Upload RBMH financial data into Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for group consolidation

AUDIT SUPPORT

Prepare and deliver supporting documentation for the RBMH audit reporting package

Facilitate both interim and year-end audit requests timely and organized manner

Prepare and submit PBC items preceding audit fieldwork

Compile and submit sample support documentation as requested by external auditors

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy of audit deliverables

OTHER

Reconcile and post RBMH American Express meeting corporate card

Reconcile and post RBMH airfare American Express corporate card

Review and process RBNA distributor billbacks

Provide coding for incoming RB Records royalties for Staff Accountant

Prepare royalty statements as required for RB Records

Assist with developing new processes to increase efficiency for the growing business

Serve as point of contact for RBMH field teams on accounting related inquiries

Conduct special accounting projects as assigned by management

Provide Tax team with any reports needed for planning or external audits

Assist and provide guidance to Staff Accountants as needed on daily tasks and accounting processes

Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Finance team to enhance overall efficiency


EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & EDUCATION (IF APPLICABLE) REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience

Solid understanding of GAAP

Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables and V-Lookups)

Proven track record in effectively communicating with all levels of an organization

Ability to take initiative with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

Team player in a multi-cultural environment with strong interpersonal skills

Strong work ethic and willing to work extra hours and weekends during quarter-end and year-end closes to meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Public accounting experience/CPA

SAP knowledge


This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.


The base salary range for this position is $67,000 - 101,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
