Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Required Skills/Experience: Prior stepdown or PCU experience required. Experience caring for stroke patients required.

Required Credentials: Stroke certification required.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Cannot hold a permanent or per diem position at another CommonSpirit facility within the past 12 months. A second job is not permitted; the travel assignment schedule must be prioritized. If placed on standby, response time is 30 minutes. Set scheduling is not accommodated.

Unit Details: This is a high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit with more PCU/stepdown-level patients. GE telemetry is monitored on another unit by monitor technicians, and monitors are also available on the unit; nurses must read and interpret their own strips. BiPAP is used. The patient population includes post-CVA, rule-out CHF, respiratory failure, diabetes, hypertension, postoperative, and some post-cardiac-cath patients. The unit uses non-titrating drips and may see Cardizem; heparin is titrated, and insulin drips are not used. Travelers are not assigned cath/PCI patients. Nurse aides may not always be available, and travelers will perform primary nursing when aides are unavailable. A hospitalist is in-house 24/7. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7; there is no IV team.

Shift & Scheduling: 2 weekends every 4 weeks. Work one major and two minor holidays, same as core staff. No call. Extra shifts may be available at times.

Floating Requirements: First to float to the MS Tele floors on the 5th, 6th, and 7th floors.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
