Full job description

Vancouver Clinic is hiring a Certified Optician to join our Ophthalmology team. In this patient-facing role, you will fit and adjust glasses and other eyewear based on each patient’s prescription, lifestyle, and individual needs. You will ensure orders are received and dispensed as prescribed, teach patients how to properly wear and care for their new eyewear, and adjust or repair their current frames. Our ideal candidate has experience in an optical environment, delivers outstanding customer service, and can manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of HIPAA, optical terminology, frame styles, and lens material options is preferred. 

Location: Camas (4500 SE Columbia Palisades Drive - Camas, WA 98607)

Schedule: Monday through Friday four, 9-hour days plus one, 4-hour day

Hiring range for Certified Optician is generally between $28.00-$33.55 per hour, and placement in those ranges depends on an evaluation of experience  

Requirements:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • ABO certification required

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a dispensing or fabricating optician preferred 

  • Apprentice: Must obtain WA State Optician Apprentice credential

Pay Range:

$27.47 - $38.46
