Full job description

As a Senior Product Manager for Cost Management, you combine deep financial fluency with strong product fundamentals — capable of going deep on complex cost workflows, driving alignment across engineering and cross-functional teams, and earning the trust of enterprise customers as a genuine domain expert. You're as comfortable in a customer discovery session as you are in authoring detailed requirements, and you bring clarity to ambiguous, high-stakes product decisions with confidence and rigor.

Construction finance is complex, and the PMs who succeed here are the ones who can hold two things at once: a clear strategic point of view on where the product needs to go, and the discipline to work through the details that determine whether it actually gets there. You'll spend some days shaping the product direction in conversations with senior stakeholders, and others deep in a whiteboard session working through how a change event flows into a forecast. The ability to move between those contexts without losing fidelity in either one is what makes someone exceptional here. If you want to help define how the construction industry manages money — at scale, for the people actually building the world — this is your role.

This position will report to the Group Product Manager, Cost Management and is based in our Austin, TX office with a hybrid work structure. We're looking for someone to join our team immediately.

What you'll do:

  • Develop deep domain expertise in construction finance, including how general contractors, owners, and specialty contractors manage budgets, contracts, change events, forecasts, and financial reporting across the project lifecycle
  • Own and drive the strategy and roadmap for one or more Procore Cost Management tools — from early discovery through delivery and iteration — with a clear point of view on priorities and tradeoffs
  • Partner with UX designers and engineers to design and deliver solutions that transform complex financial workflows into experiences that are accurate, trustworthy, and genuinely delightful to use
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the Cost Management group and across adjacent Procore product areas — including Project Management, Resource Management, and ERP Integrations — to ensure financial data flows consistently across the platform
  • Engage directly with customers, including strategic enterprise accounts, through discovery sessions, beta programs, and ongoing feedback loops to validate product decisions and build trust as a domain expert
  • Translate complex financial use cases into clear, detailed product requirements covering behavior, edge cases, permissions, and system dependencies
  • Define and track OKRs and metrics that demonstrate tangible customer and business value
  • Contribute to evangelizing the Cost Management product vision across engineering, GTM, and executive stakeholders — building alignment and buy-in

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Management role, or equivalent experience in a GTM, solutions, or customer-facing role with strong product thinking
  • Fluency with complex financial concepts — cost control, budgets, contracts, change management, forecasting, revenue recognition, or ERP integrations — ideally in a construction, project-based, or financial software context
  • Proven ability to engage confidently with customers and act as a subject matter expert who builds credibility through product and domain knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, balance customer empathy with platform thinking, and make deliberate tradeoffs
  • Data-driven decision-maker who doesn't let perfect be the enemy of good — able to act with conviction and sound reasoning when complete information isn't available
  • Experience working at multiple altitudes — shifting fluidly between shaping long-term product strategy and drilling into the granular requirements, edge cases, and system dependencies that determine whether it actually gets built
  • Comfort managing a wide cross-functional surface area — coordinating with multiple product and engineering teams simultaneously without losing context
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to author detailed requirements and articulate a compelling product narrative to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
