Price Engineering, a SunSource company, specializes in engineered custom products and solutions through engineering resource management, research, planning and development in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, automation and electrical systems. www.priceeng.com Price Engineering is seeking a Cylinder Repair Technician to join our team and support the repair, rebuilding, testing, and troubleshooting of hydraulic cylinders and fluid power components. This is a hands-on role for a mechanically skilled individual who enjoys diagnosing problems, working with tools and equipment, and seeing a repair through from disassembly to final testing.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to read hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and blueprints. You’ll work both independently and as part of a team in a climate-controlled shop environment, with opportunities for ongoing technical training and development.
Essential Functions
Disassemble, inspect, evaluate, repair, and rebuild hydraulic cylinders and fluid power componentsPerform failure analysis and identify required replacement parts and repair needsUse a variety of hand and power tools and machining equipment, including drill presses, lathes, polishing and honing equipment, and other shop machineryRead and interpret hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and blueprintsPerform hydraulic testing and troubleshooting, including operation of flow meters, data acquisition equipment, multimeters, and precision measuring toolsOperate hydraulic test stands and test hydraulic systems to verify proper operation and performanceTroubleshoot hydraulic circuits and fluid power systemsAssemble and reassemble hydraulic components and cylindersPrepare repair quotes using Microsoft Excel and WordCommunicate and send documentation using Microsoft OutlookPerform pneumatic spray painting of repaired componentsOperate a forklift and other material-handling equipment as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe repair departmentFollow established safety, quality, and repair proceduresComplete additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by management
Experience, Education and Skills
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent requiredMechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills are requiredExperience using hand tools and power tools in a mechanical, industrial, hydraulic, or manufacturing environmentAbility to read and understand schematics, diagrams, and blueprintsExperience with or willingness to learn hydraulic cylinder repair, rebuilding, and testingStrong logical problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignmentsDemonstrates sound judgment, integrity, and professional conductForklift experience/certification preferredValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordAbility and willingness to continue technical education and trainingMust provide basic personal hand tools; Price Engineering provides specialty tools specific to the jobAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform bending, assembly, installation, and troubleshooting activities associated with fluid power systems
