Full job description

Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the Chestnut Hill Squash Club management, supports the daily operations of SCH's McCausland Squash Courts by providing a safe, structured, and professional environment. Receptionists are scheduled for the fall, winter, and/or spring seasons for the entire school year, depending on availability. Many flexible shift options are available, including weekdays 6 am - 8 am, 4 pm - 6 pm, and 6 pm - 8 pm, and/or weekends 6:30 am - 9 am, and 12 pm - 3 pm. This position starts in September 2026.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor squash club attendance, check-in, and the physical space.
  • Oversee and maintain a safe and structured environment and facility.
  • Facilitate excellent customer service for Chestnut Hill Squash Club members.
  • Attend work and arrive/depart work at the appropriate times as scheduled.
  • Manage member issues and elevate other concerns for Chestnut Hill Squash Club management.
  • Perform daily checklist of basic physical plant opening and/or closing duties.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a school, office, customer service, or reception setting preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an enjoyment of working with children and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Club Locker platforms and Google Workspace is a plus (but not required).
  • Ability to use standard office equipment.
  • Dependable, flexible, and comfortable working as part of a team.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Regularly use close and distance vision.
  • Frequently stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit.
  • Turn, bend, reach, and occasionally climb.
  • Work in a traditional athletic gym and office environment with moderate noise level.
