Full job description

Job Objective:
Independently lead mechanical integrity inspections and manage inspection schedules across multiple facility assets. Ensure regulatory compliance and coordinate closely with operations and engineering teams.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  •  Independently perform and/or supervise scheduled API 510/570 and NDT (UTT/MT/PT) inspections.
  • Develop and manage annual inspection schedules using PCMS or equivalent tools and communicate priorities with Operations.
  • Review inspection results, determine necessary re-inspection intervals, and define repair criteria in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Issue and track deficiency reports, working with field teams to ensure close-out within compliance windows.
  • Review and archive fabrication and repair documentation, ensuring traceability and quality requirements are met, and perform code-required inspections during the fabrication/repair process..
  • Coordinate NDE contractors and validate personnel and procedure certifications.
  • Act as field POC during TARs or major maintenance activities, providing shift-based inspection coverage as needed.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure repair activities align with mechanical integrity and code requirements
  • Upload inspection results and supporting documents to PCMS and verify database accuracy.

Qualifications:

  •  5–7 years of direct inspection or integrity engineering experience in oil & gas.
  • API 510 & 570 certification required; working toward or holding API  653 is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory compliance (DOT, PHMSA, OSHA).
  • Experience managing inspection scopes and documenting results using MI software (PCMS preferred).
  • Ability to review WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation, and interpret P&IDs, construction drawings and piping isometrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and resolve mid-level field challenges independently.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing inspection schedules, documentation, and reporting.
  • Effective communication with multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, operations, contractors).
  • Comfortable performing inspections in high-consequence environments.

Education Requirements, Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent.
  • Possess the related API certifications (510/570).
  • Possess NDT certifications (MT/PT/UTT) or be able to obtain immediately if the applicant has some of the required NDT certifications.
