Job Description:

Registered Nurse (RN) Cyberknife/Navigator
Location: Setauket, NY (Mon&Tue)

Bohemia, NY (Wed-FRi)
Hours/Days: 5 8.5 Hour Shifts M-F; 7:30am - 4:00pm



In this role, you will:

  • Work with the interdisciplinary team in radiation oncology to execute a customized plan of care for each unique patient.

  • Guide the patient through the treatment process, provide patient education, and assist in scheduling appointments as needed.

  • Facilitate interaction between patients and their physician and referring physician(s) as appropriate.

  • Navigate patients eligible for lung cancer screenings, including patient outreach, determining eligibility, scheduling screenings, and reviewing results.

  • Work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary lung program team to analyze patient findings, and navigate patient care based on recommendations.

  • Utilize effective communication to ensure patient and caregiver(s) have appropriate information, understand, and have the capacity and tools to adhere to the individualized treatment plan.

  • Contribute to quality-driven performance improvement initiatives.


We require:

  • Valid New York State RN License

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)

  • Minimum of two years experience in an outpatient medical office setting

  • Healthcare or Customer Service Experience

  • Patient Navigation Certification (preferred)

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching

  • Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids

  • Reliable transportation to travel to NYI locations for patient care needs
