Assistant Director of Nursing

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing to lead and manage our nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for developing or implementing nursing policies and procedures, ensuring accurate medical records and documentation review, coordinating with physicians to provide optimal patient care, and upholding resident rights and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations

  • Develop or implement nursing policies and procedures

  • Ensure accurate medical records and documentation review

  • Coordinate with physicians to provide optimal patient care

  • Oversee shift management to maintain adequate staffing levels

  • Uphold resident rights and ensure ethical standards are met

  • Utilize anatomy knowledge to assess patient conditions and treatment plans

  • Maintain compliance with State, Federal, Joint Commission, and HIPAA regulations

  • Provide expertise in hospice care and acute care services

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with at least 3-5 years nursing home experience

  • In-depth knowledge of medical records management

  • Proficiency in shift management and scheduling

  • Familiarity with supervising nursing staff and collaborating with physicians

  • Understanding of resident rights and ethical practices

  • Comprehensive anatomy knowledge for patient assessment

  • Experience in hospice care and acute care settings
