Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.
Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Join Axon and Be a Force for Good

We're building the future of public safety through an ecosystem of connected devices, software, AI, robotics, drones, and real-time operations technologies that help save lives around the world. The technologies we build often sit at the center of society's most important conversations—public safety, trust, privacy, transparency, and the responsible use of emerging technology.

We're looking for an exceptional media relations leader to own and elevate Axon's global earned media strategy. This person will shape how media, journalists, customers, and the public understand Axon's mission and impact.

This is not a traditional press relations role. We need someone who thrives in complexity, understands how to build trust in highly visible environments, and can proactively shape conversations around technology that is redefining public safety.

Your Impact

As Director of Communications & PR, you will lead Axon’s earned media strategy and execution, helping build awareness, credibility, and trust in one of the world’s most innovative technology companies. You will own end-to-end media relations, cultivating relationships with key journalists, driving proactive storytelling, managing media inquiries, and securing impactful coverage that advances understanding of Axon’s products, customers, and mission.

Working closely with leaders across Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Government Affairs, Legal, and Investor Relations, you will identify and elevate the stories that matter most to Axon’s stakeholders. You will translate complex technologies, product innovations, and company initiatives into compelling narratives that resonate with media, customers, investors, policymakers, and the broader public. From major company announcements and product launches to customer success stories, executive visibility opportunities, and thought leadership initiatives, you will develop and execute communications strategies that strengthen Axon’s reputation and advance our mission to Protect Life.

As a steward of the Axon brand, you will ensure consistency and clarity across external communications, helping shape how our company, products, and mission are understood in the market. You will build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, identify emerging opportunities and risks, and help position Axon as a leader in public safety technology and innovation.

  • Manage inbound media inquiries and coordinate timely, accurate responses with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop press releases, media materials, talking points, Q&As, briefing documents, and messaging frameworks.
  • Partner with executives and subject matter experts to prepare for media interviews, speaking engagements, and press opportunities.
  • Monitor the media landscape, industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging news opportunities to inform strategy and identify opportunities to elevate Axon's reputation and influence.
  • Support issues management and crisis communications efforts as needed.
