Full job description

Fitt Talent Partners is a specialized recruitment firm for top health and wellness companies.

We’re filling this role for a client, an innovative wellness company redefining hospitality through a first-of-its-kind social wellness club experience. Located in SoHo, this is an opportunity to lead one of the brand’s flagship locations.

About the Company

We are the world’s first social wellness club, redefining how people socialize through self-care. We believe feeling your best should be a shared experience, not a solitary one.

Our clubs combine evidence-based wellness therapies, self-care practices, hospitality, and beautifully designed spaces to create experiences that help people leave feeling better than when they arrived.

Every interaction matters. Every conversation shapes the guest experience. Every team member helps define our brand.

We are looking for leaders who naturally create connection, anticipate needs before they are spoken, and genuinely care about helping others feel their best.

The Opportunity

As the General Manager, you are the leader of the club and the ultimate owner of the club experience. You are responsible for leading the team, protecting the guest and member experience, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the club operates with excellence every day.

This is not a back-office management role. You are expected to be highly visible on the floor, engaged with the team, connected to members, and deeply invested in the energy, standards, and performance of the club.

You are equal parts hospitality leader, wellness ambassador, business operator, membership driver, and culture carrier. You set the tone for how the team welcomes guests, leads tours, educates members, recommends memberships and packages, and creates personalized self-care experiences within their training and scope.

You understand that exceptional hospitality is not simply answering questions. It is anticipating needs, making people feel genuinely seen, holding the team to a high standard, and creating moments guests remember long after they leave.

Whether you are coaching a leader, resolving a member concern, reviewing the P&L, leading a team huddle, building a local partnership, preparing the club for a busy day, or stepping onto the floor to support the team, your goal is always the same:

Leave every guest, member, and team member better than you found them.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Team

  • Own the overall leadership, performance, engagement, and development of the club team

  • Model the company’s hospitality standards in every guest, member, and team interaction

  • Create a high-performance culture rooted in warmth, accountability, ownership, and teamwork

  • Hire, onboard, coach, develop, and retain a team aligned with company values and standards

  • Lead, support, and develop Assistant General Managers, specialists, practitioners, and club team members

  • Coach the team on tours, membership conversations, guest recovery, service knowledge, and relationship-based sales

  • Lead by example on the floor and step in wherever needed to support the guest experience

  • Set clear expectations for performance, attendance, professionalism, communication, and service standards

  • Address team questions, performance gaps, and operational issues with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment

  • Partner with People leadership on coaching, documentation, employee relations, and performance management as needed

Deliver an Exceptional Guest and Member Experience

  • Ensure every guest and member receives a warm, polished, and highly personalized experience

  • Serve as the ultimate ambassador for the club experience

  • Build meaningful relationships with members, regular guests, high-profile clientele, and community partners

  • Lead or support personalized tours that bring the club experience to life

  • Ensure the team can confidently explain the purpose, benefits, and science behind services within appropriate scope

  • Resolve guest and member concerns with empathy, discretion, confidence, and urgency

  • Identify trends in guest feedback, service gaps, and member needs, and translate those insights into action

  • Ensure communication by phone, text, email, and in person reflects company standards

  • Create a club environment where guests feel welcomed, cared for, educated, and inspired to return

Drive Membership Growth and Retention

Our approach to sales is built on trust, not pressure.

You will:

  • Own membership sales, onboarding, retention, and win-back efforts for the club

  • Set clear membership goals and ensure the team understands how to contribute to them

  • Coach the team to listen first, recommend thoughtfully, and educate rather than persuade

  • Help prospective members understand the value of the club and how membership can support their goals, lifestyle, and self-care routines

  • Monitor membership leads, follow-ups, conversions, renewals, pauses, cancellations, and reactivation opportunities

  • Ensure new members are thoughtfully onboarded, educated, and connected to the club

  • Conduct member check-ins and satisfaction conversations to strengthen engagement and retention

  • Partner with Membership, Events, Marketing, and leadership teams on local outreach, referrals, partnerships, and community-building opportunities

  • Use member and guest insights to identify opportunities for stronger relationships, increased utilization, and long-term loyalty

Own Club Operations

  • Own the seamless daily operation of the club across all departments, services, and guest touchpoints

  • Maintain impeccable standards for cleanliness, organization, amenities, treatment areas, equipment, inventory, and overall club presentation

  • Ensure opening, closing, shift transitions, service readiness, and daily operating rhythms are executed consistently

  • Own team scheduling and ensure appropriate staffing levels, floor coverage, breaks, and operational support

  • Proactively plan for coverage needs, call-outs, PTO, holidays, events, and peak business periods

  • Ensure the team follows scheduling, timekeeping, break, safety, and operational procedures

  • Monitor inventory, restocking, deliveries, supplies, repairs, and facilities needs

  • Identify and resolve operational issues before they impact the guest experience

  • Escalate facilities, compliance, safety, technology, or employee relations concerns appropriately

  • Continuously improve systems, routines, and processes to increase consistency, efficiency, and guest satisfaction

Drive Revenue and Business Performance

  • Own the club’s business performance, including revenue goals, membership growth, service utilization, labor, controllable expenses, and overall profitability

  • Understand and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals and results to the team

  • Use KPIs, utilization data, P&L results, guest feedback, and member trends to identify opportunities and take action

  • Drive revenue through memberships, packages, services, retail, events, food and beverage, partnerships, and local initiatives

  • Identify daypart gaps, underutilized services, and opportunities to increase demand

  • Monitor unpaid invoices, outstanding balances, and member account issues

  • Partner with leadership to execute monthly priorities, business strategies, and revenue-driving initiatives

  • Communicate performance, execution needs, project updates, and support requests during leadership meetings and business reviews

Protect Brand Standards and Club Environment

  • Ensure every touchpoint reflects the company’s commitment to luxury, wellness, and genuine human connection

  • Conduct regular walkthroughs with a critical eye, identifying and resolving anything that falls below brand standard

  • Own the physical environment of the club, including lighting, scent, sound, cleanliness, equipment condition, and overall ambiance

  • Treat ambiance, presentation, and energy as active management responsibilities

  • Ensure team appearance, communication, service delivery, and professionalism reflect the company standard

  • Identify gaps between the intended guest experience and the actual experience, and close them through training, process changes, or environmental adjustments

  • Protect the consistency of the brand while adapting to the needs of the local club community

Support Events, Partnerships, and Community Engagement

  • Support in-club events, workshops, brand activations, member experiences, and community programming

  • Partner with Events, Marketing, and leadership teams to create experiences that drive engagement, retention, referrals, and revenue

  • Build local relationships that strengthen the club’s presence in the market

  • Identify opportunities for partnerships, outreach, and community connection

  • Ensure events and activations reflect company standards, brand aesthetic, and wellness philosophy

  • Help create energy, connection, and momentum within the club community

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who brings elevated hospitality experience, business ownership, leadership maturity, a genuine passion for health and wellness, and the ability to inspire a team.

  • Have a genuine interest in wellness, recovery, self-care, and human performance

  • Lead by example through professionalism, ownership, consistency, and a team-first mindset

  • Read people well and adapt your communication style accordingly

  • Stay calm, polished, and solution-oriented under pressure

  • Notice details and take pride in creating memorable guest experiences

  • Hold yourself and others accountable to high standards

  • Make confident decisions while staying collaborative and open to feedback

  • Strong business acumen and comfort managing revenue goals, KPIs, labor, expenses, and operational performance

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Comfort using scheduling systems, CRM tools, membership platforms, phones, tablets, and computers

  • A reliable, accountable, team-first approach

  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability as needed

You’ll Thrive Here If You...

  • Love taking care of people and helping them feel better

  • Believe great hospitality is built on warmth, empathy, anticipation, and excellence

  • Practice what you preach and have genuine curiosity about health, wellness, recovery, and self-care

  • Enjoy teaching others and can explain wellness experiences in a clear, approachable way

  • Connect easily with guests and build lasting, trust-based relationships

  • Know how to lead through presence, consistency, and accountability

  • Can balance team care with high performance expectations

  • Think like an owner and take pride in the full business

  • Bring a team-first mindset and step in wherever support is needed

  • Want to be part of a company redefining the future of social wellness

Physical Requirements
