As Senior Director of Sales, you are responsible for leading our business strategy for long term growth by developing the sales strategy for the business. As Senior Director of Sales, you are responsible for leading our business strategy for long term growth by developing the sales strategy for the business. You will have a focus on sales effectiveness, developing talent and creating rich customer partnerships that will drive growth in our businesses.   

The role is highly cross-functional and requires a candidate that enjoys navigating ambiguity, working in a fast-paced environment, aligning executive stakeholders, and collaborating with geographically dispersed teams. You are a highly visible leader that will create a results-oriented, innovative, best-in-class sales organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Achieving strong year over year bookings results to drive organic growth for the business 
  • Actively leading demand generation activities to develop and grow your sales pipeline 
  • Setting, meeting, and exceeding quarterly and yearly sales quotas and objectives 
  • Partnering with Product and Marketing to ensure your sales team is executing the product strategies for our business by incorporating necessary actions into account plans and sales activity. 
  • Creating a sales culture that is focused on customer experience. 
  • Continuously monitoring, and pivoting the sales coverage model (patches, resources, account teams etc.) as necessary based on sales projections and results – to achieve strong ROI on Sales investment    
  • Measuring, coaching, mentoring, and top-grading the sales team to ensure targets are met, and surpassed. 
  • Reporting on sales progress, activity, highlights, lowlights, and insights on a monthly basis 
  • Establish and reinforce sales guidance and policy as it pertains to the consultative selling process, account planning, and the data that needs to be captured as a result. 
  • Scrubbing your sales data (predominantly Salesforce) to ensure accuracy as far out as 12 months    
  • Managing escalations from our customers and the sales team effectively by working with your peers and taking decisive action, as appropriate. 
  • Managing the team responsible for all proposal development (RFPs, Sole Source, etc.) 
  • Performing deep market research and competitor analysis to enable the evolution of our sales practices. 
  • Managing and participating in all marketing-related events, trade shows, and campaigns to build a strong reputation and brand. 
  • Working collaboratively with peers to ensure customer needs are met and addressed. 
     

What you bring to the role:

  • Minimum seven (7) years of work experience in leading sales teams in software/technology companies, in a customer facing role.  
  • Prior experience managing a P&L 
  • Bachelors/Masters in Sales, Business or Marketing 
  • Effective presentation ability to influencers, senior executives, and industry audiences 
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, globally
