Full time, 40 hours per week, Day Shift

Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical distribution systems, communication systems, and related equipment throughout the hospital. This position ensures electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, Facilities Maintenance, or a related field (preferred)

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician License (Required)
  • State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician License held for three (3) or more years (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of electrical maintenance experience (Required)
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working with electrical systems in a healthcare or hospital environment (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and safety practices
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments related to the electrical trade
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, technical manuals, and drawings
  • Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, and work independently
