Firmware Validation Engineer

Our client, a leading innovator in automotive technology, is seeking a Firmware Validation Engineer to join their team. As a Firmware Validation Engineer, you will be part of the Chassis Actuator Engineering Department supporting collaborative development efforts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Firmware Validation Engineer - Brakes & Steering

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $80-$85/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Develop and maintain comprehensive brake and steering subsystem technical specifications through collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
• Contribute to the development of diagnostic scripts and tools to enhance validation processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to adapt test plans for firmware validation and perform regression testing to meet project deadlines.
• Lead resolution of firmware defects with suppliers and assess impacts by leveraging our architecture and system design teams.
• Engage with experts across AI, Mechatronics, Computer Vision, and Robotics to leverage collective expertise and foster innovation.

What's Needed?

• BS or MS in engineering or a related field with 6+ years of experience in the automotive or similar industry.
• Proven ability to debug complex problems involving hardware, software, and firmware.
• Experience with automotive actuator controls and validation methods.
• Knowledge of automotive program development, release processes, and long-term schedule planning.
• Experience with test methodologies and developing/operating HIL test assets.
