Full job description

Our client, an Industrial leader, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the operations supporting a dynamic production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: McCook, IL

Pay Range: $32-$36

What's the Job?

  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for issues; using measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Basic skills in grinding, cutting, brazing, wiring, pipe fitting, and small motor repair.
  • Familiarity with hot work permitting and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Chemical manufacturing experience a plus.
