Job Summary
Works under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services/Asst. Director and/or Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collection on infants. Performs routine laboratory processes. Participates in data entry, specimen processing and communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required. Directs activity of phlebotomists during shift, under the direct supervision of the CLS supervisors, to include scheduling, training, daily workloads, staff and client problem resolution and supply inventory. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory phlebotomy terminology required. Two years acute care hospital laboratory experience preferred. Leadership experience preferred. Ability to operate computer input terminal. Ability to perform phlebotomy techniques including special procedures such as blood cultures, finger and heel sticks. Communication skills to include fluent English. Interpersonal skills to include positive team building and the ability to resolve conflicts in a positive manner. Well-developed organizational skills. Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment and independent action. Excellent customer service skills required.
Minimum License Requirement:
Current California CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certificate. BLS required.

Pay Range:
