Job Title: Healthcare Security Officer
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20.30 per hour
Location: Danbury, CT
Position Summary
The Healthcare Security Officer helps provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff within a healthcare facility. This role focuses on safety, access control, and customer service while supporting the facility’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas of the healthcare facility to deter and detect unsafe or suspicious activity.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; verify identification and control access as required.
- Respond to security incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm and professional manner.
- Assist clinical and administrative staff with patient, visitor, and staff safety as needed.
- Document incidents and complete clear, accurate reports in a timely manner.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations while treating everyone with dignity and respect.
- Support fire safety and emergency procedures, including evacuations when required.
- Use and care for any assigned safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.
- Follow all Securitas and client health and safety policies, including reporting hazards and incidents.
Qualifications
- Prior security experience preferred, especially in healthcare or similar environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required state or local security licenses or certifications.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies.
- Basic computer skills for incident reporting and email.
