Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial real estate lawyer to fill the position of Legal Counsel supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the "cloud" computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more.
As part of the AWS legal team, you will be responsible for supporting AWS's worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, zoning entitlement work and serviced licenses. You will have transactional drafting and negotiating responsibilities on deals, and will provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis. You will structure, draft and negotiate agreements and leases, help support AWS's existing portfolio, manage outside counsel, and advise internal business clients. In addition, you will help develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team, resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
2+ years of legal experience
- Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents (i.e. leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, development agreements, co-ownership agreements etc.)
Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
