JOB OVERVIEW:
Responsible for assisting the Accounting Department in their efforts to accomplish the Company’s goals and objectives by providing accounting and financial support. This includes processing contracts, including invoicing and revenue schedules, preparation and recording of various journal entries, preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, maintain and analyze income statements, provide other ad hoc financial and administrative services.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Analyze contracts to determine proper billing and revenue recognition schedules.
- Prepares, posts, and ensures the accuracy of revenue journals for multiple departments.
- Ensure customer invoices and credit/debit memos in the accounting software system are accurate and ensuring the delivery to the client.
- Monitors customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities.
- Actively participates in month-end close processes, booking journal entries and providing appropriate detail level review and analysis.
- Assist in month end reconciliation and rollforward of balance sheets accounts.
- Assists with year-end financial and other audits as required.
- Ensures accurate and timely reporting of financial results, and undertakes other special projects as requested.
- Entering invoices from suppliers for payment, creating new suppliers in Workday, providing payment status updates to suppliers and/or project managers, and ensuring payments go out in a timely manner (moving urgent invoices along the approval process, requesting in between payments, etc)
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting /Finance
- 3+ years accounting experience.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, demonstrating comprehensive accounting and technical skills.
- Ability to manage and analyze financial data.
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with internal and external clients.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
- Well developed analytical and problem solving and communication skills.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications; specifically features of Excel.
