We are seeking a proactive and analytical Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for ensuring material availability to support production requirements by effectively managing supplier relationships, inventory levels, and planning parameters. The Material Planner will work closely with Suppliers, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement teams to maintain continuity of supply, support operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across the planning process.
 

This job is based in Cookstown, Northern Ireland, and it requires on-site presence.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Role
 

  • Ensure all material master data is correctly maintained within the ERP system, including supplier assignment, lead times, lot sizes, safety stock levels, and replenishment parameters.

  • Plan and manage material availability in line with the production schedule and business requirements.

  • Monitor inventory levels, analyze stock positions, and take actions to optimize inventory while maintaining supply continuity.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and reliable supply performance.

  • Monitor supplier performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support supplier development activities.

  • Manage and track inbound shipments, including customs-related activities and compliance requirements where applicable.

  • Coordinate supplier changes, material transitions, and implementation of new suppliers.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Procurement teams to support engineering changes, bill of material updates, and issue resolution.

  • Analyze planning and supply chain data to identify risks, shortages, and improvement opportunities.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
     

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • Experience within Supply Chain, Material Planning, Production Planning, Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, or a related environment.

  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to learn new systems, technologies, and processes quickly.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.

  • Good Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

  • Experience with engineering changes, master data maintenance, or inventory optimization activities.
