Responsibilities:
Conduct regular surveillance and monitoring of infection control practices throughout the facility, including but not limited to hand hygiene, environmental cleaning, and sterilization.
Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Identify and investigate potential transmission risks and exposure risks, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and control best practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control measures.
Develop and maintain accurate records and reports related to infection prevention and control activities, including but not limited to incident reports, surveillance data, and educational materials.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to evaluate and improve patient care practices to minimize the risk of infection.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize infection prevention and control practices and promote efficient use of resources.
Requirements:
Current LPN/RN license in the state of Illinois
Minimum of 0 years of experience in infection prevention and control
Strong understanding of infection prevention and control principles and practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
Familiarity with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office software
