The Staff Attorney, Product is primarily responsible for providing legal guidance on intellectual property, data privacy, product compliance and licensing matters for Life.Church's digital and online ministries. This role advises on content licensing agreements, intellectual property strategy and regulatory compliance to further the Life.Church mission by working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership teams to identify and mitigate risk in a fast-paced, globally scaled digital ministry environment.
The Staff Attorney, Product is responsible for collaborating with their CTL to cast vision, provide direction, and lead ministry efforts within their area of influence to outcomes that further Life.Church’s mission and reach people for Christ.
What You'll Do
Support Product Compliance, Data Privacy, and Emerging Technology
Manage Content Licensing and Intellectual Property Processes
Participate in General Legal Research and Risk Mitigation
Skills Needed to Succeed
- Ability to self‐motivate, make independent decisions, and problem-solve with innovation.
- Effective at multi‐tasking and time management to meet deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
- Strong knowledge of data privacy law, including GDPR and applicable U.S. privacy frameworks.
- Experience with intellectual property law, including licensing, trademark, and copyright.
- Ability to advise on emerging technology legal issues, including AI governance and platform compliance.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences.
- Ability to self-motivate, take initiative, and problem-solve with innovation.
- Ability to manage outside counsel relationships and coordinate multi-party legal matters.
- Juris Doctor with a license in good standing to practice law.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience, with a focus on employment law preferred.
