Job Description
EBAD is seeking a skilled and experienced SMT Technician to support our Electronics Value Stream. Responsibilities to include functional performance validation and inspection on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) throughout lifecycle (DVT, QUAL, Production). The position would report to the production supervisor and is in Simsbury, CT.
Responsibilities:
The Electronics SMT Technician will ensure products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing requirements through functional testing, and defect identification utilizing SMT equipment. The technician shall demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset with dedication to maintain a safe work environment.
- Operation of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Equipment (flying probe, x-ray, rose, selective solder, and component testing)
- Assembly and Inspection of Electronics per IPC and J-STD requirements (Soldering, Staking, Coating, etc.)
- Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Set up and maintain work cells in accordance with 5S principles.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years SMT or equivalent equipment operation experience
- Knowledge of and ability to work to J-STD-001 class 3 requirements
- Flexibility to work with varying levels of procedural detail
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to read and understand process documents such as drawings, manufacturing instructions and process specification.
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Desired skills:
- Experience working in a development atmosphere
- Current J-STD-001 Soldering Certification
- Current IPC-A-610 Inspection Certification
- Experience working with SPEA flying probe, Nordson X-Ray, rose, selective solder, depanel
- Conformal coating-related experience
- Component-staking experience
- Experience working with a Manufacturing execution system
- Solder Paste printer, SPI, automated pick & place, reflow, AOI experience
Salary Range: $65,000-$77,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and alignment with market data.
