Full job description
Essential Job Function:
- Imports patient data into treatment planning system and prepares the fused planning images by accurately setting isocenter and creating beams with multi-leaf collimators (MLCs).
- Posts process physician contours to allow accurate computer-generated external beam radiation treatment planning.
- Serves as a resource to simulation and radiation treatment therapists.
- Performs simulation, treatment and treatment planning, including radioactive seed implants, as needed.
- Performs both rigid and deformable image fusions.
- Performs multisystem dose accumulation and prepare documentation such as isodoses and dose-volume histogram (DVH) reports.
- Receives and processes radioactive material according to the organization's radioactive material receipt policy.
- Performs routine planning system maintenance including management of patient libraries, archiving/movement of patient data, assisting with patient data infrastructure issues and quality assurance of various systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: Graduate of a Radiation Therapy Technology Program w/ 3 years' experience (will accept Graduate of a Certified Medical Dosimetrist Program w/ no experience).
Experience:
- Required: 3 years w/ Graduate of a Radiation Therapy Technology Program or no experience required w/Graduate of a Certified Medical Dosimetrist Program.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy or Certified Medical Dosimetrist.
