Velocity Wellness & Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient healthcare team in Modesto, California. Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Velocity Wellness & Physical Therapy, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in data collection, including conducting initial evaluations, administering appropriate tests, and relaying status updates on patient progress.
Executing treatment plans as directed, which involves performing therapies and exercises designed to improve patients’ mobility, strength, and overall function.
Monitoring and documenting patient progress, adapting treatment techniques as needed based on ongoing assessments of physical and mental responses to therapy.
Proactively recognizing changes in patients’ conditions and communicating findings with the supervising therapist to ensure timely adjustments to treatment plans.
Cultivating effective communication and cooperative relationships with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care and support for our clients.
Engaging in clinical meetings and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and share insights on treatment strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals recovering from surgery, chronic pain, sports injuries, and neurological conditions. Your role directly contributes to enhancing their physical abilities and quality of life through personalized rehabilitation strategies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field, demonstrating your foundational knowledge and skills necessary for this role.
A valid California Physical Therapy Assistant License, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, to guarantee safety and preparedness in all patient interactions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, which are essential for collaborating with patients, staff, and family members.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with at least two years of experience in a physical therapy setting will have a distinct advantage. Familiarity with outpatient care, experience with electronic medical records (EMRs), and knowledge of evidence-based therapy approaches will enhance your ability to excel in this role.
Compensation and Benefits
