SHIFT - PRN - Variable days/evenings
- Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist review, delivers checked medications to nursing units, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas.
- Develops and maintains skills necessary to function as a pharmacy technician, including proficiency in operational programs, dispensing and compounding activities, hospital computer systems, and medication systems.
- Uses effective negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and assures continuity of pharmaceutical care between shifts and among staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Follows correct procedures for filling, recording, and distributing pharmacy kits, carts, trays, and interdepartmental product transfer requests.
- Works effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the best outcome for the patient, prioritizing activities to ensure accurate, safe, timely, and appropriate medication availability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Verbal communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills [Required]
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes as necessary, remaining poised during frequent interruptions, and high workload and emergency situations [Required]
- Ability to interact constructively with supervisors, peers, and external customers [Required]
- Ability to follow direction from formal management personnel and informal supervisors (pharmacists) and at times, to work well without direct supervision [Required]
- Ability to identify, follow up, and resolve discrepancies [Required]
Education:
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

- Contemporary hospital pharmacy experience [Preferred]

Pay Range:
$16.79 - $26.86Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
