Cardiovascular Services Technician

Job Description

Cardiovascular Services Technicians are responsible for coordinating all EKG services. They perform EKGs, Holter Monitor exams, and 30-day event monitors. They process all testing reports in MUSE, including editing reports as proxy for physicians. Assists with all technical aspects of pacemaker services, stress testing, and cardio and pulmonary rehab.

Department: Electrocardiology (EKG)

Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week

Shift: 1st

Required: High School Diploma, BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $17.79

Responsibilities

Assists rehab classes with pre and post-exercise, performing vitals and assisting patients with hook-up and equipment., Communicates to the patient the testing procedure and any risks involved., Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia's and assists in training new EKG technicians on arrhythmia detection., Prepares patients and equipment for requested examinations including verification of physician orders and obtaining informed consent where indicated. Prepares patient in a way to product high quality EKG recordings., Processes EKGs from preliminary to edited and signed, including distributing copies to appropriate MDs., Receives EKGs from other areas of the Health System, identifies serious or life-threatening arrhythmias, and notifies Medical Director or PMD as appropriate., Responds to Code Blue Emergencies as outlined in Health Center policy and produces high quality EKG recordings for the Code Blue Record., Scans holter monitors promptly and accurately, identifies serious or potentially life-threatening arrhythmias, generates report, and notifies Medical Director or PMD as appropriate.
