Key Responsibilities
- Support engineering leadership and take ownership of critical technical aspects for infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate seamlessly with cross-functional teams including Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead technical discussions, providing expert guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
- Contribute to the onboarding and development of new engineers as the team expands.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ensure all designs rigorously meet customer requirements, industry standards, safety regulations, and engineering best practices.
- Manage technical designs across a diverse portfolio of projects and clients.
- Develop comprehensive engineering scopes of work, execution plans, and project schedules.
- Create and review essential engineering deliverables, including equipment lists, valve lists, piping layouts, line lists, mechanical equipment data sheets, and perform pipe sizing and stress analysis calculations.
- Prepare technical requisitions for mechanical systems and equipment.
- Support the design of advanced piping and fire protection systems.
- Provide crucial piping load information to structural engineers.
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships.
- Actively participate in design reviews, customer meetings, site visits, and commissioning activities.
- Respond to technical inquiries and provide robust support to construction teams throughout project execution.
- Manage engineering changes and documentation with precision and efficiency.
- Stay abreast of the latest data center technologies and industry trends, continuously seeking innovative solutions.
- Recommend advancements that enhance reliability, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall project outcomes.
- Support the selection of optimal coatings, mounting systems, and installation methods for equipment.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (other engineering disciplines may be considered with relevant experience).
- Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering and design experience, preferably within large infrastructure, industrial facilities, or data centers.
- Extensive experience with:
- Mechanical systems
- Piping systems
- Fire suppression systems
- Construction and commissioning projects
- Profound understanding and practical application of engineering codes, standards, and industry regulations, including but not limited to: AISI, ANSI, ASME (specifically B&PV Section VIII, IX, B31.3), ASTM, AWS, IBC, MFMA, MSS, OSHA, NACE, NFPA, and PFI.
- Proven ability to produce and review complex technical drawings and documentation.
- Proficiency in software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Navisworks.
