AN/BYG-1 Submarine Technician

Are you looking for a meaningful position to allow you to continue supporting the world's finest submarine fleet? Amentum is seeking an AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System Technician to support efforts in Newport News, VA. This is a full-time position and will allow you to continue providing hands-on support to some of the most sophisticated equipment the navy has.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with test and evaluation; perform validations/verifications of AN/BYG-1 systems
• Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions (ECI)
• Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
• Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise
• Interface directly with the on-site customer for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed
• Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts

 

Minimum Requirements

• Security Clearance: Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret Clearance
• Education/Experience: High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of practical experience OR degree/formal training and two (2) years experience. (Degree/Formal Training is defined as: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.)
• Must pass the Submarine Embarkation Medical screening
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, repairing networking equipment and Windows servers and workstations
• Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• US Military systems/network experience
• Direct experience working with AN/BYG-1 Combat Systems
• Fire Control Technician "A" School

       

Compensation Details:

$33.00
