Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized therapy plans designed by licensed Physical Therapists, focusing on improving patients’ mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
- Monitor patient progress meticulously, document observed outcomes, and effectively communicate updates or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist to ensure continuity of care.
- Prepare therapy areas by maintaining cleanliness and organization, ensuring that all equipment and materials are ready and safe for patient use.
- Educate patients about therapeutic exercises, self-management techniques, and other recovery strategies to empower them in their rehabilitation journey.
- Support administrative operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and providing assistance in documentation as required.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or other conditions affecting their musculoskeletal health. This role demands a compassionate approach to care, as you will regularly engage with patients of various backgrounds, ages, and physical abilities, guiding them through their personalized recovery plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a related field is required.
- An active California state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is essential.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a therapeutic or rehabilitation setting.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably with experience in software such as WebPT.
- A solid understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation exercises and the ability to provide effective patient education.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within an outpatient orthopedic environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of advanced rehabilitation methodologies and current trends in physical therapy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team setting, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 55,000 to USD 60,000, accompanied by a competitive benefits package.
