Position Summary

The Senior Business Analyst – AP LIS Implementation independently delivers complex Anatomic Pathology (AP) LIS implementation, enhancement, and optimization activities. This role supports requirements analysis, workflow validation, testing coordination, defect remediation, cutover readiness, go-live support, and post-implementation stabilization across accessioning, grossing, histology, microtomy, IHC/special stains, cytology, molecular/AP ancillary workflows, pathology reporting, case tracking, and digital pathology coordination where applicable. The Senior Systems Analyst coordinates across technical and operational teams and acts as an advanced escalation resource for complex implementation and production transition issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex implementation tasks, requirements analysis, testing coordination, defect remediation, and readiness
• Act as an advanced implementation resource for complex workflow and application issues during project and hypercare phases.
• Coordinate across operational and technical teams to ensure implementation milestones and dependencies are addressed.
• Provide informal coaching to Systems Analyst I and II team members.
• Support LIS implementation, enhancement, upgrade, optimization, and deployment activities.
• Analyze and document workflow needs across accessioning, grossing, histology, microtomy, IHC/special stains, cytology, molecular/AP ancillary workflows, pathology reporting, case tracking, and digital pathology coordination where applicable.
• Coordinate with LIS Configuration & Build for configuration readiness, standards alignment, and controlled delivery of required build components.
• Support testing, validation coordination, defect triage, issue tracking, cutover readiness, go-live execution, hypercare, and stabilization activities.
• Coordinate with Integration, Infrastructure, Middleware, vendors, laboratory operations, billing, QA/compliance, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Investigate complex implementation or transition-to-support issues and ensure appropriate escalation and resolution tracking.
• Maintain implementation documentation, workflow notes, test evidence, action logs, risks, decisions, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Follow change control, validation, compliance, privacy, and documentation standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.

Experience:

• Experience in a medical laboratory, with a basic understanding of clinical and anatomical pathology terminology
• Excellent problem solver, with a focus on team success
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams

Skills:

• Create SQL queries from database tables
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Ability to travel up to 40%
