What you'll do:
- Execute installation and testing of complex high power electrical systems for SPARC’s pulsed and steady state power system
- Develop technical requirements for vendor electrical equipment based on simulations and analysis of the SPARC power system
- Develop and implement test methods and test plans to qualify newly developed electrical designs
- Lead the installation, test, and operations handover for electrical designs
- Lead electrical work package releases (equipment list, drawings, schematics)
- Apply core electrical engineering knowledge and experience to design and improve high power systems (including but not limited to switchgear, transformers, switchboards, panelboards, reactors, semiconductor devices, cooling systems and control systems)
- Develop control narratives, concept of operations, and commissioning procedures for newly developed electrical systems
- Interface with SPARC cross functional teams including R&D, physics, construction, manufacturing, software, test, compliance & commissioning, etc. to ensure all requirements are met
- Support vendor coordination and quote procurement
- Apply best electrical safety practices & compliance standards in design and implementation
