Summary

The Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care while providing exceptional customer service to patients and the healthcare team. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist providers with direct patient care activities and clinical support functions.
• Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, medication lists, and other clinical information.
• Perform chart preparation, pre-visit planning, data entry, laboratory tracking, and document management.
• Conduct routine clinical procedures, including EKGs, rapid strep testing, urine dips, spirometry, nebulizer treatments, and other approved diagnostic services.
• Administer medications, injections, and vaccines according to established protocols.
• Educate patients on designated health concerns and treatment plans within defined scope and guidelines.
• Schedule, coordinate, and monitor urgent referrals and prior authorizations.
• Review quality reports and assist in closing gaps in care to support quality outcomes.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medications and medical supplies.
• Monitor and record vaccine storage temperatures in compliance with Department of Health requirements.
• Adhere to infection prevention, safety, environmental, OSHA, HIPAA, and Department of Health standards.
• Safeguard patient privacy and confidential demographic, clinical, and financial information.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and contribute to a positive patient experience.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and workflow improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program required.

Pay Range:

$18.13-$29.90
