Job Description:

The Principal, Organizational Change Management (OCM) plays a key role in advancing this mission by helping the organization successfully navigate change, strengthen its ability to adapt, and turn strategic priorities into sustainable results.


As Vitalant’s senior organizational change management leader, this role develops and advances enterprise change capabilities that enable successful transformation and strategic execution across the organization. The Principal leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of change management strategies, methodologies, governance practices, and adoption measurement frameworks that support enterprise initiatives.


This position partners closely with executive leaders, strategy, organizational development, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure organizational changes are thoughtfully planned, effectively adopted, and sustained. The role builds organizational change readiness, strengthens change leadership capabilities, minimizes disruption, and helps ensure strategic initiatives achieve their intended business outcomes.


The Principal also provides leadership and oversight for Organizational Change Management resources and serves as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors and initiative leaders across the enterprise.


Compensation: $150,000 - $160,000 + Incentive Plan Eligibility

This hybrid position is based in Scottsdale, AZ working onsite three days per week and from an at-home office two days per week.


As the Principal, Organizational Change Management, you'll be responsible for:

Enterprise Change Strategy & Capability Development

 

  • Develop and maintain Vitalant's enterprise Organizational Change Management (OCM) strategy, methodology, standards, tools, and governance practices.
  • Establish consistent, scalable change management approaches that support strategic initiatives and transformation efforts across the organization.
  • Assess organizational change maturity and readiness, implementing strategies that strengthen change leadership capabilities and improve adoption outcomes.
  • Partner with business and transformation leaders to integrate change management into strategic planning while fostering a culture of adaptability, resilience, and continuous improvement.

 

Executive Partnership & Stakeholder Management

 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors and senior leaders on organizational change impacts, readiness, risks, and adoption strategies.
  • Facilitate alignment among stakeholders to support organizational priorities, strategic objectives, and successful change implementation.
  • Build strong partnerships across functions to identify organizational impacts, mitigate risks, and strengthen sponsor effectiveness and accountability.

 

Change Planning, Readiness, and Adoption

 

  • Provide strategic oversight of change management activities for enterprise initiatives, ensuring alignment with established OCM standards and methodologies.
  • Oversee change impact assessments, readiness assessments, stakeholder analyses, and adoption planning activities.
  • Identify and mitigate organizational risks, resistance, and adoption barriers while supporting integration of change management into project delivery plans.
  • Monitor change readiness and adoption metrics and recommend actions to improve implementation success and long-term sustainability.

 

Measurement, Analytics, and Continuous Improvement

 

  • Establish and oversee enterprise metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that measure change readiness, adoption, utilization, stakeholder engagement, and business outcomes.
  • Analyze organizational data to identify change saturation, capacity constraints, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Present data-driven insights and recommendations to executives and initiative leaders to support decision-making and transformation outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through performance measurement, lessons learned, and refinement of change management practices.

 

Enterprise Change Portfolio Management

 

  • Partner with Strategy and Transformation teams to assess organizational change capacity and readiness across the enterprise initiative portfolio.
  • Evaluate cross-functional dependencies, competing priorities, and cumulative change impacts to identify risks and capacity constraints.
  • Provide change portfolio insights and recommendations that support initiative prioritization, sequencing, governance, and resource planning.

 

Change Leadership Development and Training

 

  • Partner with Organizational Development and Learning teams to build enterprise-wide change management and leadership capabilities.
  • Develop and support programs that strengthen change literacy, resilience, adaptability, and leadership effectiveness across all levels of the organization.
  • Promote adoption of change management best practices, tools, and behaviors that enable successful organizational transformation.

 

Functional Leadership and Internal Consulting

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop Organizational Change Management team members, including performance management, resource allocation, and professional development.
  • Recruit and retain high-performing change professionals while ensuring quality and consistency across OCM services and deliverables.
  • Lead change communities of practice and ambassador networks and serve as an internal consultant to leaders implementing organizational change.
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and effectiveness of OCM deliverables and consulting services across supported initiatives.

 

Compliance and General Responsibilities

 

  • Perform all duties in compliance with organizational policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable regulations, escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality service for internal and external customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION


REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

 

PREFERRED:

  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or related discipline, preferred.
  • Knowledge of organizational change management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, portfolio management, organizational effectiveness, and business transformation principles.
  • Knowledge of change adoption measurement, performance metrics, and reporting methodologies.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS


Professional certification in change management, project management, business analysis, or related disciplines is required. Acceptable certifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Prosci Change Practitioner
  • Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • Lean, Agile, ITIL, or related professional certifications

EXPERIENCE


REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of eight (8) of progressively responsible experience in organizational change management, organizational development, business transformation, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of three (3) years leading enterprise-scale change initiatives with executive-level stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience advising senior leaders on organizational impacts, implementation risks, adoption strategies, and transformation outcomes.
  • Experience developing and implementing organizational change methodologies, governance processes, and adoption frameworks.
  • Experience developing metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting tools.
  • Experience analyzing organizational and operational data to inform business decisions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or leading change practitioners or consulting resources.

 

PREFERRED:

  • Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting AI-enabled transformation initiatives.
  • Experience developing business cases, benefit realization frameworks, and return-on-investment analyses.
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, mission-driven, supply chain, or distribution-focused organizations
