AFS is seeking an Outside Sales Account Manager to grow our business across the southern Kentucky territory by strengthening existing customer relationships and developing new accounts.

In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted consultant and solutions partner, helping customers identify the right products and automation solutions to maintain and improve their operations. You’ll work closely with current and prospective customers to understand their needs, develop solutions, and drive long-term growth.

Essential Functions

  • Own and execute a territory-based strategy focused on winning new customer accounts
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects using outbound prospecting and digital engagement
  • Cold call, network, and attend industry events to build awareness and relationships
  • Target OEMs, manufacturers, and automation-driven businesses with structured outreach
  • Conduct onsite and virtual sales calls to provide technical consultation, product demos, and recommendations based on customer needs
  • Partner with Inside Sales teams to document call activity, manage opportunities, and develop quotes
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our core product lines and their proper application
  • Coordinate with Technical Specialists to assist customers in successful product implementation and usage
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade publications, and participating in product training 
  • Perform thorough, meticulous lead follow up and reporting

    • Experience, Education and Skills

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related area is preferred
  • 3+ years experience in B2B technical sales related to industrial automation or related electrical controls and products  
  • Valid driver's license 
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Knowledge of sales principles, tactics, and strategies
  • High degree of professionalism, dependability, self-direction, and time management
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information and sell products and services in a highly competitive environment
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and other modern sales tools 
  • Ability to organize and balance multiple priorities
