We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive individual to join our team.  Qualified applicants must demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, be extremely detail-oriented, understand the team’s goals and effectively prioritize their efforts.

The Payroll Associate is responsible for supporting multi-entity payroll processing and ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance.  This role will perform payroll audits, assist with tax filings, reconcile payroll-related accounts, and serve as a resource for employee payroll inquiries.

Job Duties:

  • Process payroll for assigned entities accurately and in accordance with established schedules
  • Maintain and update payroll processing procedures, provide backup support during team absences across payroll systems
  • Assist in documenting workflows and supporting implementation or optimization of payroll systems
  • Review and validate payroll changes, including pay rates, bonuses, allowances, equity/stock, deductions, tax elections and direct deposit updates
  • Partner with department manager to maintain payroll-related general ledger (G/L) mappings, including setup, research, and correction of coding issues
  • Assist with payroll cash account balancing and related reconciliations
  • Audit new hire payroll and tax setup to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Additional Responsibilities

    • Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed
    • All other duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new payroll and accounting systems
  • Strong numerical aptitude, including proficiency in 10-key data entry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, detail-oriented work style
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work independently, and collaboratively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Regular on-site attendance required

Work Experience / Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience preferred
