The work you'll do:
You will analyze current systems, identify critical dependencies and gaps, and recommend innovative approaches that leverage the latest advancements in cloud computing, application integration, and security. Your role will involve collaborating closely with technical teams to design, test, and implement robust architectures, while also managing the technical practice to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will be expected to address specific technical challenges by programming, integrating, and validating software systems, ensuring that all solutions are both effective and compliant with industry standards.
To excel in this position, you should have a strong background in cloud cost modeling, stakeholder communication, and the application of engineering disciplines across the entire solution lifecycle - from planning and design to rollout and ongoing support. Familiarity with tools and processes such as cloud service platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), architectural frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman), and security compliance standards (ISO, NIST) will be highly beneficial. Experience leading high-visibility or mission-critical projects, supervising less senior staff, and acting as a subject matter expert in your field will help you drive successful outcomes. Your ability to initiate and develop requirements for complex programs, while independently managing all functional duties, will be key to delivering impactful and sustainable solutions.
Here's what you'll need:
- Master's degree in a tech field plus 10 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree in a tech field plus 13 years of relevant experience; or 18 years of relevant experience without a degree. Relevant experience is required in one or more of the following areas:
- Cloud Computing
- Cloud Data Architecture and Cloud Technology Architecture
- Application Integration Security and Compliance Stakeholder Communication
- AWS Architecture and/or Azure Architecture (multiple CSPs)
- Analyzing and recommending technologies (software, hardware, infrastructure)
- Managing technical practices and introducing technical vision
- Examining current systems architecture and identifying dependencies and gaps
- Collaborating with technical staff to recommend effective solutions
- Applying engineering disciplines for planning, design, analysis, coding, testing, rollout, and support of information systems architectures
- Initiating, supervising, and developing requirements for complex programs
- Overseeing and mentoring less-senior staff
Bonus points if you have:
- Cloud Cost Modeling
- Software Design and Architecture
- Experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in solution architecture
- Recognized industry leadership in cloud or systems architecture
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and/or Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Experience with cloud cost optimization tools
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, FedRAMP)
- Experience with large-scale application migrations to the cloud
- Advanced proficiency in security best practices for cloud environments
