The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Food and Nutrition Services at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Position title: Director of Food and Nutrition Services

POSITION SUMMARY:

Job Description Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Manages and coordinates nutrition and dietetic services for a region or multiple facilities. Provides technical expertise in nutrition and dietetics to staff and community. Manages budget and performs quality reviews. The Director of Food and Nutrition Services coordinates and directs the daily operations of the department. Primary responsibilities include managing foodservice and clinical nutrition staff to assure quality food and nutrition services; reviewing and updating policies and procedures; maintaining budget and cost-control procedures; and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in clinical nutrition, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and four (4) years of job-related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Dietitian/Nutritionist 2 (HCP022) or equivalent position.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of foodservice administration, principles, and practices within a healthcare environment.
  • General knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy.
  • Knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to establish collaborative alliances and promote teamwork.
  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience.
  • Proven ability to meet and maintain budget goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
