Full job description
Special Education Teacher for a 36-week contract in Mooresville, North Carolina, earning up to $53 per hour. The role focuses on delivering district-approved curriculum, developing IEPs, and providing assessments and counseling to support students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement district-approved curriculum to maximize student learning outcomes
Participate in and assist with development of Individual Educational Plans (IEP) for students with special needs
Conduct assessments, testing, and diagnostic examinations to identify learning issues and recommend corrective procedures
Coordinate with outside agencies, families, and school staff to support student progress and behavioral management
Provide counseling to students and communicate regularly with parents to foster personal growth and social-emotional well-being
Qualifications:
North Carolina General Education License required
Valid Special Education License and resume
Minimum 1 year of experience with EC caseload, school setting, and resource teaching
Ability to conduct assessments, develop IEPs, coordinate with outside agencies, and provide counseling
Must work day shift, 37.5 hours per week
Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills
Physical ability to work in a school environment
