Full job description

Special Education Teacher for a 36-week contract in Mooresville, North Carolina, earning up to $53 per hour. The role focuses on delivering district-approved curriculum, developing IEPs, and providing assessments and counseling to support students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement district-approved curriculum to maximize student learning outcomes

  • Participate in and assist with development of Individual Educational Plans (IEP) for students with special needs

  • Conduct assessments, testing, and diagnostic examinations to identify learning issues and recommend corrective procedures

  • Coordinate with outside agencies, families, and school staff to support student progress and behavioral management

  • Provide counseling to students and communicate regularly with parents to foster personal growth and social-emotional well-being

Qualifications:

  • North Carolina General Education License required

  • Valid Special Education License and resume

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with EC caseload, school setting, and resource teaching

  • Ability to conduct assessments, develop IEPs, coordinate with outside agencies, and provide counseling

  • Must work day shift, 37.5 hours per week

  • Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills

  • Physical ability to work in a school environment

  • Background check required
