Board Certified - Internal Medicine
Job Details:
- Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track within an innovative Value-Based Care Clinic
- Supervise and mentor Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment
- Provide real-time clinical teaching in primary care, population health, value-based care, and health equity-focused practice
- Teach residents to integrate social determinants of health, community-engaged care approaches, and equity-centered clinical decision making
- Participate in journal clubs, lecture series, case conferences, and resident workshops
- Mentor residents in quality improvement initiatives, health equity research, and scholarly activities
- Collaborate with residency and program leadership to develop and improve curriculum aligned with ACGME competencies
- Provide formative and summative feedback to residents to support professional growth
- Deliver comprehensive Internal Medicine care utilizing evidence-based guidelines and value-based care principles
- Help establish and refine value-based standard practices for the clinic
- Utilize population health tools, risk stratification, and care coordination strategies to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities
- Identify and address non-medical drivers of health impacting patient care
- Deliver coordinated, team-based care alongside care managers, pharmacists, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and community partners
- Maintain current expertise in Internal Medicine, health equity science, and value-based care frameworks
- Integrate evidence-based medicine into both patient care and teaching
- Participate in quality improvement projects and mentor residents in QI methodology
- Support operational plans, coordinated care delivery, and improvements to clinical processes and operating standards
- Demonstrate advanced communication, leadership, innovation, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
- Texas Medical License required (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of ACGME or AMA approved residency required
- Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred
- Experience in medical education, health equity, population health, or value-based care highly preferred
