Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 12 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Required certifications and licensure cannot expire within 30 days of the potential start date to apply.

Special Requests: Start dates are limited to 10/19, 11/2, or 11/16. Assignment length may be up to 20 weeks. RTO is limited. All RTO must be included in the submission packet at the time of submission. Any employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained.

Unit Details: Charge responsibility may be required, with training provided. Patient population includes Med-Surg/telemetry patients, including GI bleeds, COPD, CHF, diabetes complications, ESRD, dementia, TIA/stroke, A-fib, hypertension, sepsis, and vascular issues. Ancillary support includes phlebotomy, EKG technicians, and CNAs; central materials provides pumps and equipment, and most supplies are available in the floor supply room. The assignment includes frequent interaction with students and new hires, and travelers are expected to support them.

Shift & Scheduling: Must work at least one major holiday: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and/or New Year’s Day.

Floating Requirements: Travelers float first and may be asked to float to sister campus VBH.
