Full job description
Right at Home of Essex County is seeking a compassionate, experienced live-in caregiver who drives and has their own reliable, insured vehicle for an immediate opening.
Help a client remain comfortable at home while providing personal care, companionship, and transportation to appointments and errands.
Applicants must be available for a live-in assignment and able to use their own vehicle to transport the client. Please include your earliest available start date when applying.

Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Provide assistance with walking and transfers.
- Prepare meals and snacks according to the client’s care plan.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Offer companionship and supportive engagement, including dementia care as needed.
- Drive the client to medical appointments, errands, and other outings using your own vehicle.
- Complete light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and linen changes.
- Follow the nurse-developed care plan, including assistance with prescribed exercises and special diets.
- Communicate changes in the client’s condition or needs to the office.
Qualifications
- Availability for a live-in assignment with an immediate start.
- Valid driver’s license and your own reliable, insured vehicle suitable for transporting the client.
- Three years of caregiver or home health aide experience in a home or facility setting.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the role.
- A dependable, patient, and compassionate approach to care.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
